Graphologiser

A comprehensive graphology assessment application with beginner guidance

Basic Characteristics

Measure the height of lowercase letters (like 'a' or 'e'). Small is under 2mm, medium 2-3mm, large over 3mm. Look at consistency across the sample.
Observe the angle of letters relative to the baseline. Right slant leans forward (/), left backward (\), vertical is straight up (|). Check overall pattern.
Examine the indentation on the back of the paper or darkness of strokes. Heavy pressure leaves strong marks, light is faint. Look at downstrokes especially.

Layout & Spacing

Draw an imaginary line under the bottom of letters. Straight follows the line, ascending rises, descending falls, wavy fluctuates.
Measure space between words relative to letter width. Wide is more than 1 letter width, narrow is less than half a letter width.
Compare space between lines to the height of uppercase letters. Wide is more than 1.5x letter height, narrow is less than 1x.

Letter Formation

Examine curves and angles in letters like 'o', 'm', 'n'. Rounded has smooth curves, angular has sharp points, arcaded has arches, garland has cup shapes.
Check how letters in words are joined. Connected has clear joins, disconnected has breaks between letters, mixed has both patterns.
Fast writing shows simplified forms and fewer pen lifts. Slow writing has more precise, carefully formed letters with possible tremors.

Specific Features

Examine the crossing stroke on lowercase 't's. Height is relative to stem, length relative to standard, pressure shows as darkness.
Observe the dots on lowercase 'i's and 'j's. Note position relative to stem, shape of dot, and consistency across the sample.
Check letters with loops like 'l', 'e', 'g'. Wide loops are open circles, narrow are tight, none means straight lines.

Zones & Margins

Measure the upper extensions (ascenders) compared to middle zone. Exaggerated is significantly taller, small is barely above.
Examine the descending strokes. Long goes well below baseline, short just touches, looped has complete circles below.
Observe blank space around the text. Left margin is at start of lines, right at end. Note consistency and width relative to text.

Signature Analysis

Compare signature to body text. Legible is clear and readable, illegible is scribbled or stylized beyond recognition.
Compare height of signature letters to those in main text. Larger dominates the space, smaller is modest in comparison.
Check for lines drawn beneath signature. Note length (under part or whole name) and pressure (light or heavy).
